Accident (motion picture), British drama about a married philosophy professor (played by Dirk Bogarde) at the University of Oxford who wants to have an affair with one of his students (Delphine Seyrig). Released in 1967, it won the Cannes Film Festival Special Jury Prize. British playwright Harold Pinter based the screenplay on a novel by Nicholas Mosley. Much of the action occurs during a long, drunken Sunday afternoon party where the professor tries to cope with his sexual frustration.
