A Perfect World, motion picture about an escaped convict and his relationship with the child he has taken as a hostage. Released in 1993, this film was directed by Clint Eastwood. Red Garnett (played by Eastwood) is a mobile-home-driving lawman who pursues criminal Butch Haynes (Kevin Costner) in his flight across the country. Haynes kidnaps a small boy named Phillip Perry (T. J. Lowther) and sees that Perry’s rigid parents have taken much of the luster out of the boy’s childhood, reminding Haynes of his own unhappy youth. While Garnett and his assistants pursue the man, Haynes makes efforts to introduce Perry to the joys of childhood, particularly Halloween costumes and imaginary roller coaster rides. However, the man is a wanted killer, and eventually, his past catches up with him.
