Wilfrid Laurier University

Wilfrid Laurier University, public, coeducational institution in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The school was founded in 1911. It is named after Wilfrid Laurier, the seventh prime minister of Canada. The university confers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in a broad range of fields. It offers courses of study in the arts and sciences, the fine arts, performing arts, film studies, business administration and management, computer science, Canadian studies, education, and religious studies. Research facilities at the university include the Cold Regions Research Centre, the Laurier Enterprise Centre, the Laurier Institute for Business and Economic Studies, and the Mutual Group Financial Services Research Centre.
