State University of New York at Oswego, public, coeducational institution in Oswego, New York, 55 km (35 mi) northwest of Syracuse. Founded in 1861, the school is part of the State University of New York System. The college confers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a broad range of fields. It offers courses of study in the arts and sciences, the fine arts, music, performing arts, education, agricultural education, vocational education, educational administration, business administration and management, information sciences, human resources, zoo technology, and industrial arts. Joint degree programs in engineering, cytotechnology, medical technology, and optometry are offered in cooperation with a number of other college and universities, including other schools in the State University of New York System.
