Bramble

Bramble, common name for any of a genus of plants or shrubs. The genus has many species, including the raspberry, cloudberry, blackberry, and dewberry. In England, the term bramble is sometimes restricted to the native blackberry; in the United States, it may include any thorny shrub.

Scientific classification: Brambles make up the genus Rubus of the family Rosaceae. The native blackberry of England is classified as Rubus fruticosus.
