Windows Live® Search Results Puri, sometimes called Jagannāth, town, eastern India, in Orissa State, on the Bay of Bengal. It is a seaport, resort, and market center. Its industries include handicrafts, fish curing, and rice milling. In the town is a 12th-century temple erected in honor of the Hindu god Vishnu, under his aspect as Juggernaut.
