Catoctin Mountain

Catoctin Mountain, mountain ridge, eastern spur of the Blue Ridge, central Maryland. It extends 60 km (40 mi) in a generally northern-southern direction. Its elevation decreases from a maximum of about 580 m (1,900 ft) in the north to about 150 m (500 ft) in the south. The ridge, which is forested, is the site of Catoctin Mountain Park, which includes the presidential retreat, Camp David.
