Hinggan, also Khingan, name of two mountain ranges, the Da Hinggan Ling (Greater Khingan Range) and the Xiao Hinggan Ling (Lesser Khingan Range), in northeastern China. The Da Hinggan Ling, with most peaks about 1,000 m (about 3,000 ft), runs in a northern-southern direction in the upper portion of Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongol) Autonomous Region. The Xiao Hinggan Ling lies mainly in Heilongjiang Province near the border with Russia.
