Windows Live® Search Results Iztaccíhuatl or Ixtaccihuatl (Aztec, “white woman”), dormant volcanic mountain of central Mexico, near Mexico City and Popocatépetl. It has three summits, the central one being the tallest (5,286 m / 17,343 ft). Its summits are constantly covered with snow, and from Mexico City the mountain resembles a reclining figure. Iztaccíhuatl, therefore, is popularly referred to as the “sleeping woman.”
