China Sea

China Sea, arm of the Pacific Ocean, located off the eastern and southeastern coasts of Asia. It extends from Japan to the eastern end of Borneo and the southern end of the Malay Peninsula. The Taiwan Strait, located between mainland China and the island of Taiwan, divides the China Sea into two parts; the northern portion is called the East China Sea, and the southern portion is called the South China Sea, also known as the China Sea.
