Lake Scutari

Lake Scutari (Albanian Shkodër, Serbian Skadarsko Jezero), lake in southern Europe, the largest lake of the Balkan Peninsula. Lake Scutari straddles the border between northwestern Albania and southwestern Montenegro near the Adriatic Sea. It has an area of 370 sq km (140 sq mi). A shallow lake, it receives the Morača River in the north and drains to the south by way of the Bunë River. The city of Shkodër, Albania, is on the southeastern shore.
