Missionary Ridge, low mountain ridge, southeastern U.S., situated in southern Tennessee and northern Georgia. The ridge, about 16 km (about 10 mi) long, lies southeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee, near Lookout Mountain. The Battle of Chattanooga (1863) of the American Civil War was fought on Missionary Ridge, and part of this ridge is included in the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park.
