Neisse

Neisse (Polish Nysa Łużycka; Czech Lužická Nisa), river in north central Europe, 256 km (159 mi) long, forming part of the border between Germany and Poland. The Neisse rises in the Sudety mountains, in the northwestern Czech Republic, and flows north to join the Odra (Oder) River near Eisenhüttenstadt, Germany. Görlitz, Germany, is the principal city on its banks. Another, shorter Neisse River, the Glatzer Neisse, is situated entirely within Poland and also empties into the Odra River, near Opole.
