The Wisconsin River is a tributary of the Mississippi River in the state of Wisconsin in the United States. At approximately 430 mi (692 km) long, it is the state's longest river.

Wisconsin (river), river, Wisconsin, that rises in Lac Vieux Desert, near the border with Michigan, and flows 690 km (430 mi) south and west to the Mississippi River. It is broken by many rapids and falls but is navigable to Portage 322 km (200 mi), where it is connected to the Fox River by a short canal. The Wisconsin is thus part of the continuous waterway that runs between Lake Michigan and the Mississippi River.
