Tartary
Tar·ta·ry [ trtəree ] historical region of eastern Europe and Central Asia. In the Middle Ages, Tartary was the area from western Russia to the Sea of Japan. Later, the Crimea was called European Tartary and Turkistan was called Asian Tartary.
