Dome of the Rock

Dome of the Rock [ dm əv ə rók ] a domed shrine in Jerusalem, which for Muslims is the second most holy place after the Kaaba at Mecca. It is built on the rock from which Muhammad is believed to have ascended to heaven, and where Abraham is believed to have offered the sacrifice of Isaac.
