touchous

touch·ous [ túchəss ]

adjective
Definition:

regional touchy: oversensitive and irritable
Don't be so touchous about everything!

Regional History

The term is most common in the western areas of the Carolinas, East Kentucky, West Virginia, and East Tennessee. It recurs, however, across the Lower South as well, everywhere except Lower East Texas. Elsewhere in the United States, the emotional state is signaled by fractious, high-strung, and riled up, all without clear regional significance.
