Definition:
 
1. reservoir of carbon: an environmental reservoir that absorbs and stores more carbon than it releases, thereby offsetting greenhouse gas emissions. Forests and oceans are examples of carbon sinks.

2. vegetation to absorb carbon dioxide: a forest or other area of vegetation that absorbs large quantities of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, especially one planted specifically for this purpose
