En·teb·be [ en tébbə, en tébbee ] city on the northwestern shore of Lake Victoria near Kampala, southern Uganda. Its airport, one of the largest in East Africa, was the scene of a successful Israeli raid on a hijacked commercial aircraft in 1976 leading to the release of over 100 hostages.
