late tack·le (plural late tack·les)

Definition:
 
foul after ball has been passed: in a game such as soccer, a foul resulting from an attempt to tackle an opposing player after the ball has been passed. This offense can be penalized, especially if the player making the tackle comes into physical contact with the player who had possession of the ball.
