kilt and accessories: a modern version of the traditional clothing of men from the Scottish Highlands, comprising a tartan kilt, a sporran, knee-length socks, a tweed or plain wool jacket, and brogues. Highland dress is worn, e.g. by some Scottish regiments, by pipe bands, and by some Scotsmen or men of Scottish descent on special occasions.
