Definition:
 
1. ownership: the act or state of owning or holding something
You can take possession of the house on Friday.

2. something owned: something owned or held

3. politics colony: a country or region controlled or governed by another country ( often used in the plural )

4. state of being controlled: the condition of being controlled by or appearing to be controlled by a supposed supernatural force or a strong emotion
