Definition:
 
1. supervision by probation officer: the supervision of the behavior of a young or first-time criminal offender by a probation officer. During the period of supervision, the offender must regularly report to the probation officer and must not commit any further offenses.

2. period of testing somebody's suitability: a period during which somebody's suitability for a job or other role is being tested

3. education period when student must improve: a period during which a student is given a chance to improve his or her academic grades or behavior

4. testing of something: the testing or proving of something ( formal )
