noun  (plural sig·na·tures)
Definition:
 
1. signed name: somebody's name written by him or her in a characteristic way

2. signing of name: the act of signing your name

3. distinctive characteristic: a distinctive mark, characteristic, or thing that identifies somebody ( often used before a noun )
The interior design had her signature all over it.

4. medicine directions on prescription: the part of a doctor's prescription that contains the directions for use
