vita

vi·ta [ vtə ] (plural vi·tae [ vtee ])

noun
Definition:

1. human resources
Same as  résumé (sense 1)

2. short biography or autobiography: a brief account of somebody's life ( formal )

[Mid-20th century. < Latin, "life"]

Word Usage

The correct plural form of vita is vitae, not vitas. The plural vitaeis sometimes incorrectly used as a singular, perhaps because it is thought to be a short form of curriculum vitae. In Latin vitae means "of life" or "lives" (plural).
