Asian mammal resembling cat: a mammal resembling a cat, with a thick black coat, a long tail, and tufts on its ears. The largest of the civet family, it lives in dense forests, uses its tail for grasping branches when climbing, and can swim to catch fish. Native to: Southeast Asia. Latin name Arctictis binturong.
