1. decrease after shrinking: the amount lost when something is decreased or reduced, or when it shrinks

2. act of shrinking: the shrinking of something

3. merchandise stolen or broken: the loss of goods through theft or breakage

4. loss of value: the decrease in value of something

5. weight reduction in carcasses: the loss in body weight of livestock carcasses during shipping, storage, and preparation for sale

6. reduced size of clay item: the reduction in size of a clay object when it is fired in a kiln, caused by the moisture burning off
