The clingstone peach is also called Indian peach, pickle peach, and press peach. Plum peach is a South Midland term that covers the same territory occupied by open peach ("freestone peach"). Usage is strongest in the Eastern Gulf states, the upper sectors of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi, with equally strong incidence in Tennessee and Arkansas.
