Los Alamos
Los Al·a·mos [ loss állə mss ] city in Los Alamos County, central New Mexico, situated approximately 55 km (35 mi) northwest of Santa Fe. Home to the Los Alamos National Laboratory, it was the site chosen in 1942 for research and development of nuclear weapons.
