Bos·ni·a and Her·ze·go·vi·na [ bòznee ə ənd háirtsəgō vnə ] country in the former Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia that declared its independence in 1992. In 1995, following civil war between Muslims, Serbs, and Croats, it was divided into two self-governing provinces: a Muslim-Croat Federation and a Serb Republic. Languages: Serbo-Croatian.
