Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb move back and forth: to move back and forth or up and down in short quick movements, or make something or somebody move in this way
I shook my coat to see if my keys were in the pockets.

2. intransitive verb tremble: to tremble uncontrollably
shaking with fright

3. transitive and intransitive verb become something by shaking: to achieve a particular state by shaking, or shake something in order to achieve a particular state
The door finally shook free of its hinges.
