Definition:
 
1. wooden shoe: a wooden shoe, or a shoe with a wooden sole, formerly worn in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Germany

2. U.S. sandal or strap: a strap across the instep of a sandal, or a sandal with a strap across the instep

3. support for projectile in weapon: a sleeve placed around a projectile so that it can be fired from a weapon with a larger bore. The sabot drops away shortly after the projectile is fired.
