Definition:
 
1. sound: a single short ringing sound

2. automotive 
Same as  knockn (sense 5)


3. sonar pulse: a brief sonic or ultrasonic pulse emitted by a sonar, the reflection or echo of which is used in detecting submarines or schools of fish

4. response time: the length of time, in milliseconds, that it takes to send a message to an intranet, Internet, or web address and receive a reply
