Definition:
 
1. rooftop dwelling: an expensive and comfortable apartment on the top floor of a building or built on the roof ( often used before a noun )
a penthouse apartment

2. housing for service equipment: a structure on the roof of a building to house elevator machinery, a water tank, or other service equipment

3. adjoining roof or shed: a sloping roof, or a shed with a sloping roof, built against the outer wall of a building

4. roofed corridor: in court tennis, a roofed corridor that runs along three sides of a court
