noun  (plural ped·es·tals)
Definition:
 
1. base of column: a base or support for a column or statue

2. supporting base of furniture: the column-shaped base of a piece of furniture such as a table or washbasin

3. position of being exalted: the position of being admired by somebody to the point of reverence or deification
