1. botany plant tissue: soft plant tissue made up of thin-walled cells that forms the greater part of leaves, stem pith, roots, and fruit pulp

2. anatomy specialized organ tissue: the tissue that makes up the specialized parts of an organ, rather than the blood vessels and connective or supporting tissue

3. zoology worm tissue: the loose meshwork of cells that surrounds internal organs and fills spaces inside the body of animals such as flatworms
