1. former writing material: a creamy or yellowish material made from dried and treated sheepskin, goatskin, or other animal hide, formerly used for books and documents

2. document: a manuscript or other work written, drawn, or painted on a sheet of parchment

3. high-quality paper: strong, smooth or textured, usually off-white paper used for special documents, letters, or artwork
