Definition:
 
1. dark covering: a covering that makes a place dark and gloomy
a pall of thick black smoke

2. gloomy atmosphere: a prevailing gloomy mood or oppressive atmosphere

3. casket covering: a cloth covering for a casket, bier, hearse, or tomb
