1. anatomy facing or relating to palate: occurring at, facing, or relating to the palate

2. phonetics pronounced with tongue at palate: describes a consonant sound that is produced by raising the tongue to or near the hard palate
The "sh" sound is a palatal fricative.

3. phonetics pronounced with tongue forward: describes a vowel sound that is produced with the tongue moved forward in the mouth
