tu·ber [ tbər ] (plural tu·bers)

Definition:
 
1. fleshy underground plant part: a fleshy swollen part of a root such as a dahlia root or of an underground stem such as a potato that stores food over winter and produces new growth in spring. A stem tuber has buds, popularly called eyes, unlike a root tuber.

2. small bulge on body: a small raised area or swelling on the body
