Definition:
 
1. brass instrument: a brass musical instrument, either straight or coiled, with three valves and a flared bell. It has a brilliant tone and a middle to high register.

2. something shaped like trumpet: something shaped like the flared bell of a trumpet

3. sound of or like trumpet: a loud high sound made by a trumpet, or a sound such as the call of an elephant
