trot [ trot ]


verb  (past and past participle trot·ted, present participle trot·ting, 3rd person present singular trots)
Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb riding move at pace slower than cantering: to move at a rate that is faster than walking but slower than cantering, and in which diagonal pairs of feet are off the ground alternately, or cause a four-legged animal such as a horse to move in this way

2. intransitive verb move at jogging pace: to move at a jogging pace that is faster than walking but not as fast as running
