1. act of transmitting: the act or process of transmitting something, especially radio signals, radio or television broadcasts, data, or a disease

2. something transmitted: something transmitted, e.g. a radio signal

3. broadcasting radio or TV broadcast: a radio or television broadcast

4. automotive mechanism transferring power to wheels: the mechanical system, including gears and shafts, by which power is transmitted from the engine of a motor vehicle to the drive wheels

5. automotive set of gears: a set of gears and the protective casing that covers this in a vehicle or engine

6. physics ability to let radiation through: the ability of a material to let incoming radiation pass completely through it
