Definition:
 
1. transitive verb break law: to break a law, rule, or moral code
transgress the law

2. intransitive verb do wrong: to commit a crime or do wrong by disobeying a law, command, or moral code
He transgressed against the organization's code of conduct.

3. transitive verb overstep proper limit: to go beyond a limit, usually in a blameworthy way
She'd transgressed the bounds of civil behavior.
