Trans·cau·ca·sia [ trànss kaw káyə, trànss kaw káyzee ə ]region in southeastern Europe, south of the Caucasus Mountains, between the Black and Caspian seas, forming the southern part of Caucasia. It consists of the republics of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Area: 186,100 sq km (71,853 sq mi.)
