1. Native N American: a member of a group of Native North American peoples who lived in western parts of the Great Plains, and now live mainly in North and South Dakota. Included in this group are the Oglala, Hunkpapa, and Miniconjou peoples.

2. Teton language: the Siouan language of the Teton people. Native speakers: 6,000.
