Definition:
 
1. occupation of property for rent: exclusive possession, for a fixed period, of property or land owned by somebody else, in return for an agreed rent. This is usually under the terms of a lease or a similar legal entitlement or agreement.

2. time of somebody's tenancy: a period of time when a piece of property such as a house or farm is legally occupied and used by somebody paying an agreed rent

3. place lived in by tenant: a piece of property that somebody is entitled to use or occupy on condition that an agreed rent is paid to the owner
