Spelling Note

team or teem? Do not confuse the spelling of team and teem, which sound similar. Team can be used as a noun or verb, referring to a group of people or animals who work together, as in a team of designers, a team of oxen, teaming up with a former rival. Both words spelled teem are only used as verbs, one meaning "have an extremely large number in a place," the other "rain very hard" and "pour out": The river teemed with fish. It's teeming down outside.
