1. aviation beginning of flight: the process of leaving the ground and beginning to fly

2. sports beginning of jump: the act or point of leaving the ground at the beginning of a jump

3. point of rapid growth: a point at which substantial success or economic expansion is achieved and the prospect of further success or growth seems assured

4. imitation: an imitation of somebody or something, especially for comic effect ( informal )
