2. marked by clear enunciation: clearly enunciated with every syllable distinct

3. being syllable without vowel: describes a consonant that acts as a syllable without a vowel, as does the "l" in "bottle"

4. based on number of syllables: describes verse in which the rhythm is set by the number of syllables rather than accents, stresses, or vowel strengths.
